NFL Draft 2012: Defensive End A Possibility In Second Round

The possibilities for the 23rd overall pick held by the Detroit Lions are all over the place and likely are going to stay that way right up until the day of the draft unless the team's management just plain old announces outright which player they're planning on taking. We've seen linebackers, offensive lineman and defensive backs drafted to the Lions, all areas of need. In the second round it's just as intriguing.

Walterfootball's take on the situation is that the Lions will take C Peter Konz in the first round, and will be adding defensive depth in the second in the form of Vinny Curry, a DE out of Marshall.

It's no secret that Jim Schwartz loves bolstering his pass rush. Well, defensive end could be a big need for the Lions if free agent-to-be Cliff Avril leaves. With 33-year-old Kyle Vanden Bosch declining, Detroit will have to find help up front.

The guesses are not going to get any less murky from here, folks.
