2012 NFL Draft: Miami (Ohio) Guard Brandon Brooks Visits Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions on Monday began doing pre-draft work including inviting non-local prospects around, including Brandon Brooks. He's not a big name, but he's a big guy.

A 349 pounder, Brooks was not invited to the NFL Combine but impressed scouts anyway by putting 36 reps on the bench press and running a 4.99 40 time, not bad for a guy his size. He played tackle for Miami (Ohio) but is more likely to go to Guard in the NFL due to his sheer size.

Brooks is slated to go in one of the mid to lower rounds of the NFL draft, and for a team like the Lions who are probably going to be looking for offensive line depth he is an absolutely perfect prospect for them to be looking at for a flyer pick in the later rounds.
