Jahvid Best Injury Update: Lions' RB Reportedly Gets OK To Work Out

Despite suffering yet another concussion last season and reports that his career may even be over, Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best has stated that he expects to be back in 2012. In December, after Best was placed on injured reserved and would ultimately miss the team's final 10 games, the running back was supposedly cleared to return to physical activity. Now, Adam Schefter is reporting that Best will be apart of the Lions' regular offseason work out program with the rest of his teammates:

The source said Best will be able to take part in the Detroit's OTAs, minicamps and training camp. While Best hasn't been cleared to return to football yet, the source would be "shocked" if Best isn't able to fully participate.

Whether or not the Lions pick up another running back in the draft might be the most telling sign on Best's health, though. Best will likely undergo continual evaluation and I think it's safe to say that concussions will always be a concern going forward, but it's good to hear that he's no longer suffering from an October concussion here in March.
