With the 23rd pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions have selected Riley Reiff, an offensive tackle from Iowa. These 2012 NFL Draft results have Reiff landing exactly where the final SB Nation mock draft had him. Reiff was regarded as the second-rated offensive line prospect behind Matt Kalil, who went No. 4 overall to the Minnesota Vikings.
Reiff was an early entrant to the draft after his junior year at Iowa, during which he garnered All-American and All-Big Ten honors. He started 37 of 39 career games, and is the latest in a string of recent Iowa offensive linemen taken in the first round of the NFL draft. At 6'6" and close to 315 pounds, he projects as an NFL left tackle.
