2012 NFL Draft Results: Ronnell Lewis Goes To Detroit Lions In Fourth Round

With the 125th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions chose linebacker and defensive end Ronnell Lewis out of Oklahoma. These NFL Draft 2012 results go against projections for Lewis, who was expected to go as high as the second round.

Although many have projected Lewis to be a linebacker in the NFL, the Lions view Lewis as a defensive end. Either way, a pass rusher is a pass rusher and it won't matter where he lines up as long as he can get after opposing quarterbacks, which he did admirably well as an All-Conference player for the Sooners.

Lewis joins Kyle Vanden Bosch, Cliff Avril, Lawrence Jackson, Willie Young, Everette Brown and Ugo Chinasa as the Lions' current defensive ends.

The Lions originally had the 117th pick in the fourth round, but executed a trade with the San Francisco 49ers to move back eight spots while also picking up a sixth round pick, which they had forfeited due to the tampering charges against them.

The Lions next selection will be the 158th overall pick.
