Mikel Leshoure Preliminary Exam Set For May 15

Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure made an appearance in a Berrien County court on Wednesday morning for a March 12 arrest for marijuana possession. Before being released, Leshoure asked for and was granted a preliminary exam on the felony charge stemming from his second marijuana arrest in a month. He has a pre-exam conference on May 11 and a hearing scheduled for May 15, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Leshoure was arrested on Feb. 18 for marijuana possession. He was able to work that charge down and paid a $485 fine.

Leshoure and the Lions should know more about his legal fate after the May hearing. He could still be facing discipline from the league, up to a four-game suspension even. Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley was arrested in Alabama on Tuesday for marijuana possession, and offensive tackle Johnny Culbreath was arrested in January for marijuana possession as well.
