The Detroit Lions have agreed to terms with their sixth-round pick, Jonte Green, according to a press release issued by the team. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Green was a cornerback at New Mexico State last season. He was the 196th pick of the draft. He had two interceptions last season.
The Lions, who have been looking to upgrade their secondary all offseason, was the third cornerback selected by the Lions in the draft. The other two cornerbacks selected were Louisiana-Lafayette’s Dwight “Bill” Bentley in the third round and Albion’s Chris Greenwood in the fifth round. All three are expected to have a chance to compete for playing time.
He is 6 feet tall and weighs 191 pounds. At the combine he ran a 4.40 40-yard dash.
