Detroit Lions Place Jerome Harrison On Reserve/Non-Football Illness List

The Detroit Lions were forced to put recovering tailback Jerome Harrison on the reserve/non-football illness list on Tuesday, as the veteran runner continues to heal from brain surgery.

Harrison, who was stunned to find out that doctors had found a brain tumor on a routine physical he was given after being traded to Philadelphia in the middle of last season, is "progressing" according to his agent.

By placing Harrison on this list, Detroit keeps a roster spot on its 90-man squad intact, and also signifies that Harrison will officially be ineligible to compete at all during either the regular season or postseason. In Harrison's spot, the Lions signed rookie free agent safety Sam Proctor and wide receiver Wallace Miles to the 90-man roster.
