Less than two months after being arrested in Mobile, Alabama for marijuana possession, Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley had yet another brush with the law on early Sunday morning, and was picked up by Alabama State Troopers for driving under the influence and attempting to evade police.

Fairley posted a $1750 bond and was released a few hours later, but appears to have done a masterful job of ruining his reputation with this latest arrest. He is still expected in court on July 31 for his marijuana charge, and was already in the NFL's substance abuse program and therefore subject to random testing.

The fact that Fairley was pulled over at roughly 3:30 am is especially troublesome, since it's clear that the troubled lineman still hasn't learned much of a lesson after being picked up for possession back on April 3. A luxury pick at the time at No. 13 overall, Fairley's selection in the 2011 NFL Draft is starting to look like one of the worst decisions of the Mayhew era in Detroit. It remains unclear whether he'll face separate penalties from the league, but there's no doubting that Fairley has a lot to learn if he wants to remain a professional athlete.
