Nick Fairley Arrest: Lions DT To Plead Not Guilty At Thursday Arraignment

The latest in the Nick Fairley saga comes from his lawyer, Sid Harrell, who said Wednesday that his client will plead not guilty to his misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and attempting to elude police in May outside Mobile, Alabama.

His arraignment is set for Thursday at 9:30 a.m. ET, via George Sipple and Kevin Bull of The Detroit Free Press. Harrell said he expects a trial date within 30-45 days in Mobile County District Court and doesn't yet know if a plea deal would be possible.

"I've not seen everything," Harrell said. "I still haven't talked to the troopers. I don't know every fact. It's still in an investigative stage."

Fairley also was issued traffic citations for reckless driving, no proof of insurance and an open container.

Fairley also has a hearing set for July 31 from a marijuana charge back in April. Earlier this month, he apologized to the Detroit Lions and their fans for putting himself in these situations.
