Lions Training Camp: Jahvid Best Placed On PUP List; Jonathan Scott On NFI List

New, 1 comment

On Friday afternoon, the Detroit Lions decided to place running back Jahvid Best on the physically unable to perform list while he continues to recover from a concussion he sustained last season in a game against the San Francisco 49ers.

It's not clear when Best will be cleared for contact, but he is eligible to be removed from the preseason PUP list at any point prior to the regular season. If he is unable to return to action by then, he will be placed on the regular season PUP list and will be ineligible to return prior to the completion of the team's first six games.

In addition to Best, the team also announced that offensive tackle Jonathan Scott was placed on the non-football injury list.

Scott, who was signed by the team on Tuesday, is believed to have failed a conditioning test on Friday. Due to the fact that he passed a physical prior to signing his contract, Scott is not thought to have an injury or else he would have been placed on the PUP list.
