Roger Goodell To Visit Lions Training Camp This Week

According to the official website of the Detroit Lions, the team is set to receive a visit from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell later this week. Now, the first thought might be that he's coming to see what in the world is going on with all of the offseason arrests -- seven in total this offseason -- but in reality, Goodell always does a tour of training camps throughout the NFL.

He'll meet with the players, talk to the coaches and generally do commissioner-like things, but there is still a chance he'll give a lesson on player conduct. The Lions have become familiar with Goodell not just due to arrests, but also due to in-season disciplinary action. Ndamukong Suh is one of the worst offenders at this point, at times challenging Goodell and claiming that he's done nothing wrong.

Last season, Suh asked the league for confirmation on more than one infraction that he was penalized for in-game and punished for after the fact and had to meet with the commissioner. Is there a good chance that Goodell spends a little extra time making sure things are understood - doing a little bit to ensure that nothing is left up in the air? Sure - but aside from that, it's going to be a regular visit from the commissioner.
