Calvin Johnson Injury: Detroit Lions Star Sits Out Practice

Calvin Johnson played in the Detroit Lions' first preseason game of the season without any apparent incident, but the All-Pro wide receiver has apparently suffered some sort of injury since Friday night's game, as the man known as Megatron didn't participate in Monday morning's practice.

Johnson sat out of practice with "tape on his left index finger and no helmet," according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. No further details were known at the time of his initial report, though there could be an update later Monday.

The 26-year-old wide receiver started all 16 games for the Lions last season, recording 96 receptions for 1,681 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The Lions were also missing wide receivers Patrick Edwards and Ryan Broyles, running back Mikel Leshoure, defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch and safety Don Carey from Monday morning's practice. In better news,RonnellLewis and Justin Durant both returned to the field after having to sit out part of Sunday's practice due to injury.
