Fantasy football rankings have become a hot topic now that the midpoint of the NFL's preseason is upon us, but unfortunately things are pretty murky when it comes to the Detroit Lions. It sounds as though projected starter Jahvid Best could miss the first six weeks of the season, opening a spot for another starter to begin the season.
That race seems pretty cut and try, too, according to SB Nation's experts over at Fake Teams. They're apparently bullish on Mikel Leshoure, who is suspended for the first two games of the season, and have thus decided that Kevin Smith deserves some fantasy attention.
Kevin Smith (DET) rose a whopping 27 spots over the last two weeks and is now a 10th Round Pick (119). It's clear that his rise is due to the other Detroit RB's stumbling around him.
The site dropped Best to 91 in its most recent rankings, but there's a solid chance he tumbles a bit further if the running back does indeed start the season on the physically unable to perform list.
