A 33-yard field goal by Billy Cundiff with 4:50 left in the first quarter gave the Baltimore Ravens a 3-0 lead over the Detroit Lions after one quarter Friday.
Cundiff's field goal capped off a 13-play drive that took nearly five minutes off the clock. Two Detroit penalties — a 5-yard offside penalty and a 15-yard personal foul — helped get the Ravens in field goal range. Detroit has committed five penalties for 34 yards in the first quarter.
Joe Flacco is 7-for-12 passing for 79 yards. Ray Rice has five carries for 12 yards and Anquan Boldin has two catches for 31 yards. Baltimore had nine first downs in the quarter.
The Lions had only three first downs in the quarter and didn't make it out of their own territory on either of their two drives. Matt Stafford was 4-for-7 passing for 34 yards, Kevin Smith had two carries for four yards and Calvin Johnson had two catches for 28 yards.
