Lions Injury Report: Chris Houston, Louis Delmas Closer To Returning; Bill Bentley Suffered Concussion

The Detroit Lions' banged up secondary may be getting some much-needed reinforcement this weekend, as cornerback Chris Houston and safety Louis Delmas are reportedly getting closer to full-strength. Said Coach Jim Schwartz:

"Both of those guys are getting better. They're closer today than they were on Friday. Let's put it that way. Each case is a little bit different. Those guys are veteran players, they are two of our better team guys. They're not being selfish. They want to be out there, but when they're healthy, we'll get them back out there."

Houston, who is out with a high ankle sprain, will try to practice on Wednesday, according to CBSSports.

Houston's return may be crucial, as cornerback Bill Bentley could miss time after suffering a concussion in last week's game against the Rams. Schwartz was cautiously optimistic, but remains uncertain of Bentley's status for this week.

The Lions head to San Francisco to take on the 49ers this Sunday.
