Average Pistons Ticket Drops 10 Percent

A struggling economy and struggling team have led to decreased attendance figures and lower ticket prices in Auburn Hills.

The cost of the average Detroit Pistons ticket dropped 10 percent, the biggest drop in the NBA. It costs fans on average just over $42 to see the Pistons play, a far cry from the league-leading, $95-a-ticket Los Angeles Lakers. Attendance at the Palace is also on the decline:

On top of declining prices, the Pistons are struggling to fill the Palace. Through six home games this season, the average home attendance has been 16,169. That number is down 13.8 percent from last season, and a far cry from the 21,705 Detroit averaged between 2003-2009 when the team lead the league six of seven seasons.

It doesn't help that the Pistons aren't very good. Despite blowing out the Milwaukee Bucks last night, Detroit is just 6-10 on the young season and went 27-55 last year.
