Pistons Hosting Free Open Scrimmage Sunday, December 18

The Detroit Pistons are hosting a free open practice tomorrow -- Sunday, December 18 -- for fans to catch an in-person sneak peak at the 2011-2012 team. Fans around the nation were able to witness the Pistons first preseason game last night on NBATV, but this will be an opportunity for them to see how the team functions in practice, live and with a free Coca Cola and hot dog.  Information for the open scrimmage is after the jump via press release:

The Detroit Pistons will host a free open scrimmage inside The Palace of Auburn Hills on Sunday, December 18 from 12:00 noon – 1:30 p.m. Admission and parking is free for all fans and doors will open at 12:00 p.m.

"The open practice is a great event where our fans can come out to The Palace and get a preview of this year’s team," said Joe Dumars, Pistons President of Basketball Operations.  "Our players and coaching staff have been working hard to get ready for the upcoming season and we look forward to getting started."

Pistons players, including last season’s All-Rookie Team member Greg Monroe and this year’s first round draft pick Brandon Knight, will practice and scrimmage on the court beginning at 12:00 p.m. Coca-Cola has teamed with the Pistons and will provide a free soft drink and hot dog to fans in attendance while supplies last. Pistons head coach Lawrence Frank will be on the microphone to welcome the crowd and interact with fans prior to the scrimmage.
