Tom Gores must be so proud of his (possible) new franchise.
↵Mere days after reports that Gores might be the new owner of the Pistons, a story surfaced that LeBron James confronted a heckling fan during the Heat's matchup with the Pistons on Friday.
↵↵↵A fan who says he was seated near the heckler says James was being taunted early in Friday night's game when he walked over while the Heat were shooting free throws. The witness says the Miami star told the fan he could say whatever he wanted about James, but: "Don't say anything about my family — be respectful or we're going to have a problem."
↵
While it's unclear of what exactly was said to James that got under his skin, ESPN reported that it regarded James' mother and that the Miami superstar responded with an expletive.
↵After the " Malice at the Palace" brawl between the Pistons and Pacers in 2004, Pistons fans don't exactly have a shiny image around the league. While it's perfectly alright to express freedom of speech, there's just some things that you should keep to yourself. It's okay to go to a game and let the other team have it, but there's other ways to do it than this.
↵Considering that, James could have handled the situation better. It's incidents like this that give LeBron the "villain" moniker. The great ones never let the fans get at them.
