John Kuester, Rip Hamilton Pass Ball Around At Practice, Now Best Of Pals

So, remember that whole deal where Pistons guard Richard Hamilton yelled at head coach John Kuester and called him a failure and a career assistant coach? Well, they're apparently all better now.

↵

Kuester and Hamilton had a meeting today before practice and the coach was seen passing the ball to Hamilton as the media was allowed into the practice. So, what gives?

"We met and we had a good conversation," Kuester said. "The conversation went very well. He worked today and he did a good job. He just said, ‘Q, pass me the ball'. And I said, 'OK.' My passes were pretty good."

Neither would say who approached who, but both said that they had a great conversation. Hamilton also addressed the reported walkout of Friday's shootaround, calling the idea "crazy."

"We were all laughing at the situation as it was being reported," Hamilton said. "It was just a situation where guys didn’t make it to practice, and the first thing people said was there was a protest. I heard about it, and people were calling me."

Um, yeah, that sounds totally reasonable. Whether Hamilton plays as a result of this feel-good story is yet to be seen. Hamilton has been out with a groin injury and said that he would see how it feels tomorrow.

The situation with the Pistons continues to make less and less sense. One day team sources are spreading word that the team has given up on the head coach and now everything is candy canes and lollipops. Whatever the situation, you can be sure that there is something fishy going on in Motown.
