Greg Monroe To Serve As Pistons' Representative At NBA Draft Lottery

A year ago, the Detroit Pistons' spot in the NBA Draft was not altered by the NBA Draft Lottery. The Pistons ended up picking seventh, just like the standings suggested they would. The Pistons landed Greg Monroe as a result, and he had an outstanding rookie season for them.

Now the Pistons are hoping he will be good luck for them at this year's NBA Draft Lottery, because Monroe is being sent to it to be Detroit's representative. Last year's representative for the Pistons was team vice president Scott Perry, and he is hoping Monroe will bring some good luck to the team.

"Hopefully, he’ll bring us more luck," Perry laughed. "But, actually, staying at seven ended up being very lucky for us last year. The fact we remained at seven in the lottery process and were able to draft a guy we believe is going to be one of the cornerstones for your team – now to have him go back there the following year, hopefully, his presence there will bring the same type of good fortune during this lottery."
