2011 NBA Mock Draft: Detroit Pistons Select Jan Vesely

The latest 2011 NBA mock draft on DraftExpress has the Detroit Pistons taking small forward Jan Vesely with the eighth overall pick. Vesely is from Czechoslovakia and has been playing pro basketball since 2007. He was named the FIBA European Young Player of the Year in 2010 and is expected to be a top-10 pick in this year's NBA Draft.

In the second round, the Pistons' two picks are Nolan Smith and Isaiah Thomas.

Smith is a guard from Duke who averaged 20.6 points per game as a senior in 2010-11. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

Thomas is a guard from Washington who shares the same name as one-time Pistons great Isiah Thomas. Their first names are spelled differently, but Isaiah considers Isiah one of his mentors. That would make for a great story if the Pistons drafted him.

DraftExpress' top five for the NBA Draft is as follows: Kyrie Irving, Derrick Williams, Brandon Knight, Jonas Valanciunas and Kemba Walker. Enes Kanter and Kawhi Leonard are predicted to be picked before the Pistons go on the clock as well.
