NBA Mock Draft 2011: Bismack Biyombo To The Pistons

If you believe the rumors swirling about what the Detroit Pistons will do with the eighth overall pick, by this time on Friday they will have a new big man set to join the team. Based on the workouts that took place earlier this week, that big man could be Markieff Morris, Kawhi Leonard, Tristan Thompson or even Bismack Biyombo. There's no telling what will happen once the draft starts, but a big man seems to be in the Pistons' plans.

If it were up to SB Nation's latest 2011 NBA mock draft, the Pistons will take Biyombo, the 6-foot-9 power forward/center from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Biyombo would serve as a nice complement to Greg Monroe, last year's first-round pick for the Pistons. He would also give the Pistons a player with a lot of upside.

Biyombo perhaps more than anybody has been a player whose stock has gone up and done and up and done over the last few months. This week it started to go up a bit with news of a good workout with the Pistons, but now it could potentially go down again with news that he may have a problem with his back. Of course, there's no telling what we should actually believe considering so many contradicting reports are out there, but it's worth passing along nonetheless.

If the Pistons end up passing on Biyombo, many think he won't fall far, but if there is any truth to this back problem, it will be interesting to see how far he slides.
