Pistons Vs. Grizzlies Final Score: Rudy Gay, Memphis Too Much For Detroit, 98-81

With a 98-81 loss to the Grizzlies on Friday night, the Detroit Pistons lost their 10th game in their last 11, fifth in a row at home, and fourth in a row overall. They now stand (swaying back and forth) at a miserable 3-13.

The Pistons, who trailed 49-30 at the half, scored 35 points in the third quarter and cut the deficit down to seven with just under nine minutes left in the game, but a subsequent 17-3 Grizzlies run put Memphis back up 21 and sent the dozens of Pistons fans for the exits.

Detroit didn't shoot all that bad (44-percent) and actually outrebounded the Griz 38-27 (13-3 on the offensive glass), but could not stop the easy makes -- Memphis shot 57-percent and had assists on 23 of their 39 baskets. The Pistons' 25 turnovers led to 19 fast break points for Memphis.

Brandon Knight was the leading scorer for the Pistons with 22, 12 of those coming in the Pistons' 35-point third quarter. Greg Monroe had a quiet double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Rudy Gay led all scorers with 24 points on 10-for-17 shooting.

The Pistons look to end their losing ways when they play again tomorrow night against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Palace.
