Multiple Palace Sports Executives Dismissed As Part Of Tom Gores' Restructuring

There's some changes going on for the Detroit Pistons, but not the kind of changes that will have an effect on the product on the court. According to the Detroit News, four Palace Sports & Entertainment executives were fired on Thursday, as part of major restructuring under Tom Gores, owner of the Pistons. Dan Huser, executive vice president of corporate sponsorships, Marilyn Hauser, executive vice president of booking and marketing, Larry Thomson, vice president of corporate sponsorships, advertising division and Mike Garrett, director of information technology and business systems were the four let go.

Some new names in Lucinda Treat, Charlie Metzger and Jeffrey Akluni have been hired over the last four weeks, and represent a shift in vision for the company. Ajluni was recently named the Pistons and PS&E's new executive vice president and chief revenue officer. If you're still following along, these changes are, at the very least, a sign that the Pistons and the company that owns them are looking to move forward in more than one area. Will anybody reading notice these changes? That's an entirely different story.
