Looking to avoid dropping five straight games, the Detroit Pistons trail the New York Knicks 49-37 at half at Madison Square Garden. The difference early on has been on the offensive glass, where New York has out-rebounded the visiting Pistons 10-to-3.
Streaky shooting guard Ben Gordon leads the way statistically for the Pistons with 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting, but Detroit has shot just 32.4% as a team. The Pistons have also committed eight turnovers - three of which came from the hands of rookie point guard Brandon Knight.
For the Knicks, starting center Tyson Chandler has been borderline unstoppable at both ends, with game-highs in both points (11) and rebounds (14). Making adjustments to slow down Chandler will be key for Pistons big man Greg Monroe after the break. Cult-hero Jeremy Lin has looked like his usually polarizing self, and has 10 points and three assists to go with a game-high five turnovers in 16 minutes on the floor.
