Coming off a pair of blowouts -- one win, one loss -- the Detroit Pistons will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.
Good and bad, the Pistons have been extreme lately. They set a team record Tuesday when they led by 50 points through three quarters against the Cleveland Cavaliers. They ended up winning that one by 39.
On Wednesday, though, it was the opposite. Detroit trailed the Atlanta Hawks by 22 at the end of the first quarter and by an even 30 by halftime. The Hawks took their foot off the gas and won by just 32.
Detroit's extremes go beyond this week: The Pistons lost by 23 to Miami on April 8 and by 30 to Orlando on April 9. The next time out, they beat the Bobcats by 24.
This will be the second and final game between Detroit and Minnesota, which enters riding an 11-game losing streak. The first contest was back on January 18, when the Wolves won 93-85 behind 20 points and 17 rebounds from Kevin Love. Luckily for the Pistons, Love is not expected to play until Sunday.
Thursday's game starts at 7:30.
