Pistons Vs. Magic: Detroit Trying To Take Advantage Of Slumping Orlando

The Detroit Pistons remain a team that will beat the worst of the worst, but can't quite pull of upsets with any sort of regularity. They were 110-107 overtime winners over the Charlotte Bobcats in their last outing, but were held to just 71 points against the Chicago Bulls before that. However, that's a typical score of teams playing the Bulls lately, who have been on fire defensively. Prior to that, the Pistons had won two-straight games.

That being said, their last four wins have been against some sub-par competition - victories over the Sacramento Kings, Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers and the aforementioned Bobcats. They just can't put together those kinds of outings against top competition, even when their defense is playing exceptionally well. The biggest problem is their lacking offense.

In their next outing, it's not going to get any easier. They've got a matchup with the Orlando Magic, who eat weak offenses for dinner. Well, that's not entirely true as of late, as they've lost three-straight games, to the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets. All three losses saw the opposing team get at least 100 points.

So perhaps this is where the Pistons can start winning games against tough competition, even if some would tell you it's too little, too late. At any rate, the game is set for 7:30 p.m. eastern.
