With the fifth pick in the second round (35th overall) in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors made a wise choice to snatch up former Michigan State star and 2012 Big Ten Player of the Year Draymond Green.
A 6-foot-7 do-it-all forward, Green was the heart and soul of the Spartans' program for the last few seasons, averaging 16.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game during his final campaign to take home honors as the conference's top overall player.
Expecting to hear his name called in the later parts of the first round heading into Thursday's draft Green had to wait until early in the second round to hear his name and will now join a Warriors rotation that can certainly benefit from the added versatility he brings to the table.
