Updating The Red Wings' Injury Situation

The Red Wings made it through training camp and the preseason relatively healthy all things considered, but some players are dealing with injuries as Detroit gets ready for the 2010 season.

Perhaps the most serious injury of all was suffered by Kris Draper. He injured his groin but was actually able to skate recently. It's not likely that he will be ready to go for the first couple games of the season, but perhaps this injury won't keep him out quite as long as expected.

Patrick Eaves made his return to practice after suffering a sprained ankle and is on pace to play Friday. The same goes for Justin Abdelkader, who is also expected to play. (He missed contact drills during practice earlier this week because of a shoulder injury.)

Finally, despite not being able to skate since last week, Todd Bertuzzi is apparently going to be ready to go for Friday, so aside from Draper, the Wings will basically be at full strength.
