The Red Wings have agreed to a deal with their top pick from the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
↵Second-round pick Landon Ferraro signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the team, the terms of which were not disclosed. Ferraro was the 32nd overal pick of the 2009 draft and led the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL last season in scoring (37 goals, 18 assists). Ferraro is currently with the WHL Everett Silvertips this season, but is expected to make the jump to the AHL next season with the Red Wings' affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
↵Ferraro is the son of former NHL center Ray Ferraro, who scored 408 goals and 490 assists in 18 NHL seasons.
