WIth George Blaha, Mario Impemba, Dan Dickerson, Jim Brandstatter and Ken Daniels, the Michigan sports teams are blessed with some of the better sportscasters in their respective games. But, according to the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), Red Wings play-by-play man Ken Daniels is Michigan's best:
↵Per a Red Wings press release:
↵↵↵Ken Daniels, longtime play-by-play announcer for FOX Sports Detroit’s coverage of the Detroit Red Wings, has been recognized as Michigan Sportscaster of the Year for 2010 by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA). It is the second such honor for Daniels, who also earned the NSSA award in 2003.
↵Daniels, in his 14th season with FOX Sports Detroit, is among the 110 state sportscasters and sportswriters from 49 states and the District of Columbia to be honored during the NSSA’s 52nd Annual Awards Weekend, May 14-16 at the organization’s headquarters in Salisbury, North Carolina.

The NSAA will also recognize Ann Arbor resident Mike Tirico, who was selected as 2010's National Sportscaster of the Year.
