Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Gustav Nyquist scored twice and added an assist to lead the Red Wings to a 3-2 victory over the Penguins in their preseason finale.
Johan Franzen assisted on both of Nyquist's scores and added a goal for Detroit, which got 25 saves from Jimmy Howard. The Red Wings open their season Friday at home against Ottawa.
Paul Martin and Tyler Kennedy lit the lamp for Pittsburgh, which starts the year Thursday at Vancouver. Marc-Andre Fleury had 15 stops in the loss.
