Red Wings' head coach Mike Babcock will probably tell you it's just another game the Red Wings need to win, like every other game on the schedule, but when the San Jose Sharks come to town on Friday night, the Wings will undoubtedly be seeking to avenge their Western Conference Quarterfinals' loss -- as best as they possibly can in an early regular season game.
The Red Wings could benefit from the notion that it's a "rematch" and there's plenty of reason to come out flying for a nationally televised audience (that gets NHL Network), because they've now lost two straight ugly games, a 7-1 drubbing by the Washington Capitals and an ugly 4-1 loss to the winless (at the time) Columbus Blue Jackets.
It's conceivable, though, that if they play like they have in their last two games, they could be looking at four straight losses by the end of Saturday night after their game with the Minnesota Wild, who have won five straight home games entering tonight's game vs. the Ducks.
