After being on the west coast for the last four games, the Detroit Red Wings will be glad to return to the confines of Joe Louis Arena this week. Two of Detroit's three games this week will be at home, with a Friday evening trip to Boston sandwiched in between.

The Red Wings are off until Wednesday night when they host the Calgary Flames. Detroit has already lost one game at home to Calgary this year, dropping a 4-1 decision on November 2.

Friday afternoon the Red Wings will play in Boston against the reigning Stanley Cup Champion Bruins. The game is a 1pm face off as the first nationally televised game on NBC for the season.

The Red Wings then have a quick turn around as they return home Saturday night to face the Nashville Predators. Nashville is currently one point ahead of the Red Wings in the Central Division.
