The Detroit Red Wings are one of the hottest teams int he NHL heading into the post-Thanksgiving week. The Red Wings have won five straight games and nine of their last eleven as they head into the post-Thanksgiving stretch. One of the biggest wins in that stretch was a 3-2 shootout win over defending champion Boston last Friday.
This week the Wings have three games, with one at home before starting a three game road trip. Detroit is at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday to start the week. The Lightning are third in the Southeast Division, which is one of the weaker divisions in the NHL.The game will also be carried nationally on Versus.
Friday the Red Wings head to Buffalo to take on the Buffalo Sabres, who are in third place in the Northeast Division with 27 points. The week then ends on Sunday night when Detroit travels to Denver to face the Colorado Avalanche. Colorado is struggling this year in 4th place in the Northwest Division, but the bitter Red Wings-Avs rivalry always has solid games.
