The Detroit Red Wings are still three points behind the Chicago Blackhawks going into this week, but they will have a difficult time catching the Blackhawks with a couple of tricky road games this week. The Red Wings' schedule begins on Wednesday night in Pittsburgh against the surging Penguins. Pittsburgh has won six of their last ten and are only a point out of first in their division.

On Thursday the second game of the road trip takes place in Nashville as they visit the Predators. Nashville has been struggling a little of late. They have just 32 points and have fallen to fourth in the Central Division. Detroit also won the only meeting so far between the two, as they won 4-1 on November 26.

Detroit returns home on Saturday night to host the Los Angeles Kings in the only home game before a four game road trip. The Kings are struggling a bit with only 30 points and they are fourth in the Pacific Division.
