Detroit Red Wings left winger Jan Mursak has been activated from injured reserve and will be sent to the Grand Rapids Griffins on a rehab stint this week before returning to Detroit. Mursak has been out for the entire season so far with a broken ankle suffered in the preseason:

Mursak, a 23-year-old from Slovenia, made his NHL debut last season for Detroit. He played in 19 games and scored one goal, but had 13 goals for Grand Rapids. In 2009-10 he had 24 goals for Grand Rapids and added 18 assists. His best season in the minors came in 2006-07 with the Saginaw Spirit where he had 27 goals and 52 assists. He also had nine goals and 15 assists for the Belleville Bulls in the 2008 playoffs.
