A first-period check sent the Detroit Red Wings' Johan Franzen colliding face-first into the boards. Franzen later returned to the game, but had obviously sustained some damage to his face.

Video: Pavel Datsyuk's Between-The-Legs Shot On Goal
The Detroit Red Wings' Pavel Datsyuk made the standout play of the 2011 NHL Playoffs thus far in Game 2 of their series with the Phoenix Coyotes. Datsyuk shot the puck between his legs at Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, and Darren Helm scored on the rebound for the Wings' third goal of the game.

The Phoenix Coyotes broke through on the scoreboard, but still trail the Detroit Red Wings in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series after two periods. Radim Vrbata scored a power-play goal for the Coyotes at 12:58 of the second period, wristing a shot past Jimmy Howard after a pass out to the wing from Keith Yandle.

Detroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen was taken off the ice early in the first period of Game 2 of their playoff series versus the Phoenix Coyotes. Franzen went into the boards face-first after getting shoved from behind by the Coyotes' Shane Doan at the 16:30 mark.
