Johan Franzen Skates, Expects To Be In Lineup When Second Round Starts

The Red Wings were missing Johan Franzen and Henrik Zetterberg for last Wednesday's Game 4 against Phoenix, but they didn't need either to dispatch the Coyotes. It looks like both will be back in the lineup when their second round series starts, but nothing is set in stone.

Head coach Mike Babcock said he expects Franzen, who injured his ankle on the ugly hit by Phoenix's Shane Doan in Game 2, to play when they resume the playoffs. However, in vintage Babcock, he also left the possibility open that he might not play. Judge for thyself:

"He'll play if he's ready and if he's not ready he won't play. It's just that simple,'' Babcock said. "But it's my anticipation that he'll be ready. Now, I've been wrong before, but the Mule's going to play.''

The one certainty is that Zetterberg will be ready whenever the second round starts. He's been skating for a good week now after missing the entire series with Phoenix.
