Red Wings forward Johan Franzen and Sharks forward Ryane Clowe both missed Game 6 on Tuesday. Franzen's ankle injury finally caught up with him enough to keep him sidelined, and Clowe didn't even make the trip to Detroit after supposedly having flu-like symptoms. (Clowe was Kronwalled in Game 5, hence the skepticism about why he missed Game 6.) Whether or not either will play in Game 7 on Thursday night remains to be seen, as both players are going to be game-time decisions.
Franzen did take part in the skate on Thursday morning, but he is still considered a game-time decision by Mike Babcock. If Franzen can't go, the expectation is that Mike Modano will once take his spot in the lineup for the Red Wings.
Clowe also took part in his team's skate on Thursday morning. Sharks coach Todd McLellan said Clowe is "feeling pretty good," but he isn't going to make a decision one way or another -- at least publicly -- until closer to the start of the game.
In other pre-game skate news, Pavel Datsyuk and Brian Rafalski did not take part in the Red Wings' practice on Thursday morning but will both play in Game 7.
