Todd Bertuzzi Finally Almost Over Concussion

It has been almost a month since Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi was knocked out of Game 7 against the Sharks. Bertuzzi checked San Jose's Dany Heatley during the first period, but Bertuzzi suffered the worst of the hit and left with a concussion.

Since then Bertuzzi has been attempting to pass baseline concussion tests, but he still hasn't done so. It seems as though he's making progress and should be fully recovered soon, though.

Bertuzzi told the Free Press on Tuesday that he had worked out two days this week without any issues.

He has to go at least a week without any symptoms (such as headaches) before taking the baseline test that players must undergo before being cleared from a concussion.

Dan Cleary, who suffered a concussion in Game 7 on a much more vicious-looking hit, was cleared from the injury just days later. It just goes to show that you can never tell what will happen with a concussion.
