It appears the Detroit Red Wings' first pick in the 2011 NHL Draft will have to wait until Saturday. Rather than use the 24th overall selection to take a player, the Red Wings instead opted to trade it away to the Ottawa Senators. In return the Red Wings received the 35th and 48th overall selections, which are both in the second round.
