2011 NHL Draft Results: Red Wings Trade 1st-Round Pick To Senators

It appears the Detroit Red Wings' first pick in the 2011 NHL Draft will have to wait until Saturday. Rather than use the 24th overall selection to take a player, the Red Wings instead opted to trade it away to the Ottawa Senators. In return the Red Wings received the 35th and 48th overall selections, which are both in the second round.

With the Red Wings getting two extra second-rounders, they now have three total picks in that round. Below is a breakdown of all the picks they have in the 2011 NHL Draft.
