Jaromir Jagr Headed To United States, Will Announce Decision Wednesday Afternoon

Jaromir Jagr is currently flying to New York from the Czech Republic and is expected to arrive as early as 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shortly after he lands, Jagr's agent, Petr Svoboda, expects to find out which team Jagr has chosen to play for next season.

Jagr is choosing between the Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens, according to reports. The Penguins confirmed on Tuesday that they have offered Jagr a one-year deal. Neither Detroit nor Montreal have publicly discussed offers, but the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Rossi said the two teams are "known to have made offers."

Rossi also said that Jagr has been waiting for an offer from the Penguins from the start. Rossi says the offer is "fair," indicating that Jagr is likely to sign a deal to come back to Pittsburgh. The Penguins want him to finish his career in Pittsburgh, and right now all signs point to Jagr wanting the same thing.

We should find out whether or not that is the case in the next few hours.
