Jaromir Jagr was expected to announce a decision about his NHL future on Wednesday afternoon after arriving in the United States. It is now almost 10 p.m. (Eastern Time) and so far nobody has heard from Jagr. The Detroit Red Wings are still waiting to hear a decision, as are the Pittsburgh Penguins. Hell, even his agent isn't quite sure where Jagr is right now.
"I don't know if he missed a connection," Svoboda told the Free Press after 8 p.m. "I have no clue."
Earlier in the day Jagr was rumored to have agreed to a one-year deal with the Penguins, but that turned out to not be true. Signs still point to Jagr ultimately choosing Pittsburgh, but now there are also rumors that he has declined the Penguins' offer and Detroit is the new favorite.
To say the least, a lot of theories are being thrown around right now, but nothing is concrete, partly because nobody even knows where Jagr is right now.
