When the Detroit Red Wings signed defenseman Mike Commodore last week, a few people joked on Twitter that fans should campaign for him to wear a No. 64 jersey. The joke behind this is that Commodore's jersey would read "Commodore 64" if he actually chose that number.
↵For those who don't know, there was a computer back in the 1980s called the Commodore 64. I'm sure it's not the first time Commodore has heard a joke related to the computer, but he has never actually worn the No. 64 jersey before. He is considering it for the Red Wings, though.
↵↵↵For those asking, I have not decided what # I am wearing yet...but I am considering #64. Need to talk to equip manager..decide at camp

As pointed out on Puck Daddy, the Red Wings have never had a player wear a number in the 60s, so Commodore could be the first if he goes with No. 64.
