Red Wings Begin Preseason With 3-2 Loss To Penguins

The Detroit Red Wings opened their 2011 slate of preseason games on Wednesday night in Pittsburgh with a 3-2 loss to the Penguins. Niklas Kronwall and Jiri Hudler had the two goals for the Red Wings. Scoring for the Penguins were Chris Kunitz, Evgeni Malkin and Matt Niskanen.

The Red Wings are off to London, Ontario, to take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night. The Flyers will visit Joe Louis Arena on Friday night for the Red Wings' first home game of the preseason.
