Red Wings Vs. Blues Final Score: Detroit Wins Seventh Straight Overall, 17th Straight At Home

The Detroit Red Wings are unstoppable at home -- at least their last 17 games there anyway. The Red Wings won their seventh straight game overall to move three points ahead of the next best team(s) in the National Hockey League and the two teams nipping at their heels in the Central Division, including these St. Louis Blues.

St. Louis scored nine minutes into the game and held a 1-0 lead going into the second period, but it was all Detroit from there. In the second period, Pavel Datsyuk scored his 14th goal of the season on a beautiful power play backhand from about 10 feet out. Eight minutes later Johan Franzen cleaned up the garbage in front of the net and scored what was ultimately his NHL leading ninth game winner. Niklas Kronwall added the Geico with about three minutes left in the game.

Jimmy Howard was fantastic, stopping 21 shots and winning his NHL best 30th game.

The Red Wings hit the road for six now, starting in Montreal on Wednesday.
