2012 NHL All-Star Game Update: 3-3 Tie After One Period

Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings has notched an assist so far in the 2012 NHL All-Star Game in Ottawa as Team Chara and Team Alfredsson are tied 3-3 after one period. Datsyuk's assist came on the first goal of the game, as he helped Marian Gaborik score 4:34 into the game. Gaborik has already scored twice for Team Chara, as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead.

Fellow Detroit Red Wings teammate Jimmy Howard has surrendered three goals so far, as he drew the start for Team Chara. He stopped only the second ever penalty shot in NHL All-Star game history. Steven Stamkos had a penalty shot late in the first period, but Howard stoned him to keep the score at 3-3.

Howard saved 11 of 14 shots in the first period, but gave up three goals in the final 10 minutes after a solid start.
