The Detroit Red Wings faced their division rival Chicago Blackhawks last year on December 30, but fell 3-2.

It's a new year, but just over a week after the Wings' first of six meetings with the Blackhawks this season and they'll do battle again tonight at the United Center.

The Red Wings will look to get back on track after a disappointing 4-3 loss on Saturday night in Toronto. The Wings got behind 3-0 in the first period and came all the way back to tie, but ultimately lost 4-3 after Maple Leafs' Joffrey Lupul beat Jimmy Howard 7:10 into the third period.

The Blackhawks have lost three straight since beating the Red Wings 3-2 and are only 1-for-23 on the power play in their last eight games. The 'hawks were most recently drubbed in front of their home fans on Friday night, a 4-0 loss to the Avalanche.

Both teams trail the Blues' 53 points in the Central Division, the Blackhawks in second with 52 points and the Red Wings at 51.
